One Huntington’s ATM n ear me has an interesting language option: Somali. Makes me wonder how much you could learn about the distribution of immigrants by surveying ATMs across the country.
Anyone have any unusual language offerings near you?

I haven’t used an ATM in the states since maybe 2012? And I don’t remember its language options. I used ATMs last summer in Europe, and they obviously supported a ton of languages for the most part. I don’t think I could make sense of the one at the Florence airport? I think it was in Italian, and giving me some weird message that made me worry it was going to try to do a cash advance rather than a ATM withdrawal, so I skipped that.

Here it’s Spanish, French, English, and Chinese I believe... at least with my bank.

Just English and Spanish here. I read an article recently that said half of the Somali refugees settled in Arizona leave for Minnesota. I kind of wish half the Minnesotans who settle in Arizona moved to Somalia.

Both my banks ATM’s pull the language off my debit card. If you want a different language you change the settings on the card.

The Somalis have much better food, sorry. They’ve been incorporating various Mediterranean cuisines into their dishes for millennia, I’m sure they can figure out a way to shoehorn German and Scandinavian cuisine in there...maybe?
